WAYNESVILLE, North Carolina—In 2020, we make joy wherever we can, especially during this holiday season. For many, Elf on the Shelf is a holiday staple that brings laughter, excitement and just a little bit of mystery to every day. For the uninitiated, the Elf on a Shelf is a small elf doll, which parents move every night to surprise their children in the morning. The Elves often find themselves in fun situations—sometimes they’re stuck inside a vase, sleeping under a pile of blankets, or surrounded by snacks that they spent all night eating.

Usually, Elf on the Shelf is something that parents do at home for their kids—but at Haywood Family Eye Care, an indie practice located in Waynesville, North Carolina, Elf on the Shelf Seymour Clearly has found himself a home inside the office.

Seymour Clearly, or Se. Clearly for short, has been getting himself into loads of fun—and a few sticky situations—over the last month. Above all else, he’s brought some much needed laughter and joy to 2020. Here’s a look at a few of his adventures.

Of course, one of the first things Seymour the Elf did was get his annual eye exam at Haywood Family Eye Care. Image via haywoodfamilyeye on Instagram.

He also got the chance to try out the practice’s Virtual Field—and from the look on his face, he enjoyed it. Image via haywoodfamilyeye on Instagram.

Seymour also learned a little about LASIK. He seems to be considering his options very seriously. Image via haywoodfamilyeye on Instagram.

He also endeavored to solve one of the most irritating issues that has arisen from COVID-19—fogged up glasses. Image via haywoodfamilyeye on Instagram.

Of course, Seymour also carved out a little time to write his letter to Santa. Image via haywoodfamilyeye on Instagram.

And Seymour made sure to remind his friends to use their benefits before the end of the year. Image via haywoodfamilyeye on Instagram.
