The practice is operated by Dr. Gregory Kame who has been practicing optometry in the Los Angeles area for more than 20 years along with his two associates, Dr. Lynn Matsuda and Dr. Desireh Akhamzadeh. Total Vision, which is backed by New York City-based Bregal Partners, now operates approximately 48 office locations throughout California.According to its announcement, Total Vision is the largest network of vision providers in California and employs more than 500 team members, including over 100 ODs.The team at Los Angeles EyeCare has been providing families with quality eyecare since 1921. Dr. Kame continues the tradition of excellence in eyecare that began over 100 years ago. The practice is known for its cutting-edge work in the contact lens field and has been nationally recognized as one of the 10 best contact lens practices in the country. The team is committed to advancements and innovation within the eyecare industry, and they continue to take part in clinical studies and investigations on an ongoing basis.Dr. Kame’s goal is to continue the tradition of excellence in eyecare that his father provided for his “extended family” for 38 years, according to the announcement. Among his many past and current accomplishments, Dr. Kame is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He served on the California State Board of Optometry. He is a past president of the Asian American Optometric Society and has served many years on its board. He currently serves as one of its trustees. He is Treasurer and Secretary of the Society of Contact Lens Specialists. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Optometric Society, California Optometric Association, Asian American Optometric Society, and American Optometric Association. Dr. Kame has served on the National Professional Advisory Panel coordinated by Vistakon, a Division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. He is also a clinical examiner and grader for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).
