Alysse Henkel, senior director, market research and analytics, The Vision Council, shares the results of a new survey with attendees of the Ocuco User Group’s annual meeting.

CLEARWATER, Fla.—More than 55 customers and industry partners gathered here in April for three days of education and networking at the annual Ocuco Innovations User Group Meeting (UGM). The meeting featured nearly 30 workshops and presentations including Innovations and Lablink Development Road Maps, Strategies to Enhance Online Presence, and Specialized Personnel Recruitment.

Resource management specialist Mike Karlsrud opened the event with a keynote presentation titled Winning the War for Talent. This was followed by Alysse Henkel, vice president of inSights at The Vision Council, with her presentation, Optical Insights: A Deep Dive into Lens Consumer Behavior.

Ocuco founder and CEO, Leo Mac Canna shared his insights on the essential role Ocuco plays within the lab business ecosystem stating, “The lab business is not just an add-on to Ocuco. The knowledge of lens manufacturing has vastly improved our retail.”

Interactive discussions and workshops were held throughout the event with experts such as Dawid Drozdz, an optical lab continuous improvement manager who attended the UGM, and noted that the event offers an opportunity to gain insights from industry peers and engage directly with the Ocuco development team.

“You are brainstorming and sharing feedback directly with their development team, so you learn what is being prioritized, how they are working, and how they are troubleshooting. I think that can only happen face-to-face,” Drozdz said.

The event sponsors were IOT, Thai Optical Group, Schneider Optical Equipment and Optikam.

Ocuco, based in Dublin, Ireland, is a leading provider of omnichannel solutions for the eyecare retail, optometry and lab markets worldwide.
