LONGARONE and MILAN, Italy—Marcolin has joined the United Nations Global Compact, a global pact launched in 2000 with the aim of mobilizing businesses to align their strategies and operations with the UN’s Ten Universal Principles on human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. The pact also aims at achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Marcolin joins more than 20,000 other companies and 2,500 non-business signatories from 167 countries around the world, including more than 500 in Italy, where Marcolin is based.

In an announcement, Marcolin said, “By joining the Global Compact, Marcolin is committed to sharing, supporting and applying in its sphere of influence, 10 principles considered fundamental and relating to human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. The Group once again emphasizes the centrality of its all-round ESG path in its corporate processes, based on a strategy that is built on three pillars: the environment, people and the supply chain.”

“Joining the UN Global Compact is for Marcolin a further step in the Group’s commitment to concrete and tangible sustainability. By uniting forces with thousands of other companies worldwide, Marcolin wants to do its share in accelerating change and building a more sustainable future for the generations of today and tomorrow,” the Group concluded.

The UN says its Global Compact is a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments. Extensive information on the Pact, as well as information on participation, is available on the dedicated website here.
