NEW YORK—From recognizing women as major players in optical to celebrating company partnerships and products, New York City was a busy place to be on Saturday April 16 as Vision Expo East nighttime festivities wrapped up. Here’s a slideshow of some of the major parties that took place around town.

With One World Observatory and the New York City skyline as its stage, the Optical Women’s Association honored MyEyeDr.’s Sue Downes with the Pleiades Award and Solutions’ Ann Englert with the Pyxis Award. The annual OWA event (#OWALOVESNYC) attracted optical industry leaders as well as members of the OWA. Marchon was the sponsor of the “star” studded event. EyeRock, the annual fundraising concert put on by musicians and singers from the optical industry, was a sold-out success, with proceeds from the show going to New Eyes for the Needy. Jay Jay French of the platinum-selling metal band Twisted Sister joined The EyeRock Band onstage for some high energy rock ‘n’ roll.
