SCENE + HEARD Maui Jim Previews 2018 Product During Immersion Trip to Illinois HQ By Staff Monday, December 18, 2017 12:00 AM PEORIA, Ill.—On Nov. 9, Maui Jim, the independently-owned sunglass brand held a press immersion trip at its Peoria, Ill. headquarters where they showcased new 2018 products, technologies and marketing campaigns. Once at the Maui Jim headquarters, guests were able to view the company’s expansive sunglass collections and also received custom frame fittings from Maui Jim experts. Maui Jim, which got its start in 1980 as a small sunglass company in Lahaina, Hawaii now offers over 125 styles of sunglasses, all of which are polarized and protect from 100 percent of UVA and UVB rays. The attendees of the trip were then given presentations centered on the Maui Jim brand, the company’s lens technologies as well as given a preview of their 2018 collections and new marketing campaigns. While Maui Jim has always been a technical lens company, the group got a sneak peek at the next area in eyewear that the brand will expand its lens proficiency to this coming year. The Illinois headquarters also house the Maui Jim lab. The company-owned lab is a precision robotic, state-of-the-art, fully-automated facility that ensures the integrity of the company’s product. After a tour of the lab, warehouse and the rest of the Maui Jim building, the guests boarded a shuttle to Peoria airport and headed back to the East Coast on the Aloha One after a day of learning more about the Maui Jim brand, their upcoming products and where they will be expanding their lens technologies.
