HOUSTON—Vision Source, a North American network of independent private practice optometrists, has announced the appointment of Amir Khoshnevis, OD, to the position of president and chief medical officer, effective immediately. Dr. Khoshnevis has served Vision Source and the broader optometry community for many years. Having brought his own practice into the Vision Source family in 2003, the company noted, Dr. Khoshnevis over time took on roles of increasing responsibility, eventually rising to the position of chief medical officer in 2019.

In this role, Dr. Khoshnevis will work strategically with Fabrizio Uguzzoni, president of professional solutions, EssilorLuxottica Americas, to further strengthen Vision Source’s leadership in the industry. Jeff Duncan, general manager of Vision Source, will continue to lead business operations for the company, the announcement stated, working closely with Dr. Khoshnevis. Supporting the business side, Rick Burnside, Luca Zuliani and Laura Brown will provide strategic leadership alongside Duncan.

In addition to Dr. Khoshnevis’s appointment, Vision Source has also announced the elevation of five optometrists to the leadership team: Dr. John McCall (co-founder), Dr. Amanda Lee, Dr. Mick Kling, Dr. Aaron Werner and Dr. Mike Rothschild. These individuals, partnered with business experts, will collaborate with the goal of developing industry-leading solutions to drive growth, innovation and clinical excellence for Vision Source members, the company noted. Additionally, Dr. Glenn Ellisor, Vision Source founder, will continue to serve as senior advisor to the leadership team.
