REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—Tangible Science Inc. announced that Karen Havenstrite, Ph.D., MBA, co-founder, and former CTO, has been appointed chief executive officer, succeeding Victor McCray, MD, who will transition to the role of executive chairman of the board. Dr. McCray, who led the company for 12 years, is stepping down to embark on the next chapter of his professional journey, the announcement said. Under his leadership, Tangible Science developed and commercialized the Hydra-PEG coating technology and care solutions portfolio.

"His strategic vision has positioned the company as a worldwide leader in contact lens technologies, serving manufacturers, practitioners and patients. Havenstrite, who co-founded Tangible Science and invented the Hydra-PEG coating technology, has been with the company since its inception. She brings extensive experience in both scientific innovation and leadership to her new role, according to the company.
