Jonathan Crespo.

PARIS—French eyewear brand IZIPIZI has announced Jonathan Crespo as its new and first CEO of North America. As the brand focuses on expanding in North America, Crespo will focus on increasing IZIPIZI’s retail footprint, including wholesale, retail and e-commerce, the company noted. In his role as CEO, he will lead the newly formed U.S. subsidiary and manage all aspects of the businesses, and will report to brand founders Charles Brun, Xavier Aguera and Quentin Couturier, who are based in Paris at the brand’s global headquarters.

Before joining IZIPIZI, Crespo was the global senior director of business management and development at Oliver Peoples prior to, during and after the merging of EssilorLuxottica. In a release, IZIPIZI stated, “His experience building Oliver Peoples and his contributions to the successful sale and integration into the Luxottica portfolio provided Jonathan with deep industry knowledge and relationships that will support IZIPIZI operations in North America as the brand now sets its sights on this market.”

“Jonathan’s deep relationships with retailers and his expertise in the eyewear industry make him the perfect fit for IZIPIZI," said IZIPIZI co-founder, Charles Brun. "With his leadership in this market, we hope to become everyone’s choice for well-designed and well-priced glasses for reading, skiing or simply sitting by the pool.”

“It is exciting to be a part of this incredibly smart, young, and focused executive team," Crespo added. "The founders’ enthusiasm is infectious, and the brand offers customers a fashionably cool eyewear option with no sacrifices. I look forward to helping make the IZIPIZI brand as loved here as it is in Europe.”
