MILAN, Italy—DaTE, the Italian eyewear event focused on avant-garde design and innovation, has announced Davide Degl’Incerti Tocci as its new president. Degl’Incerti Tocci is also the current ANFAO vice president responsible for the Gruppo Giovani, digitization and internationalization, as well as CEO of Nannini Italian Quality. The next DaTE show is scheduled for September 13 through 15, 2025; DaTE is free of charge and open only to eyewear industry professionals, opticians, buyers and journalists, according to the announcement.

“My thanks to ANFAO and Mido president, Lorraine Berton, for this appointment and for her trust in allowing me the opportunity to modernize a show so crucial to the Italian market," Degl’Incerti Tocci said. “I enthusiastically accepted the DaTE presidency and will invest the same spirit in my work with the team, already actively focused on 2025. Key words like avant-garde, creativity, audacity, cross-fertilization, inspiration, originality and research—that have enabled DaTE to succeed on the domestic stage in a well-defined niche—will be our mainstays.

"But, for the next edition, new ideas and concepts will be reflected in all aspects of the event—its location, format and vital business opportunities, expanded based on market needs," he added. "DaTE is truly a unique occasion for the entire eyewear system: for exhibitors, who will find fertile ground to cultivate their ambitions and experimentation; and, for visitors—first and foremost Italy’s opticians who will discover avenues by which to diversify their product lines, all in an atmosphere rich with valuable insights.”
