Michele Andrews, OD, (l) and Melissa Kiewe.

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—CooperVision, a division of CooperCompanies (NASDAQ:COO) and leading manufacturer of contact lenses, has announced the promotion of two of its senior executives, Michele Andrews, OD, and Melissa Kiewe, into new leadership roles. According to the announcement, Dr. Andrews has been promoted to vice president, marketing and professional affairs, Americas. Kiewe, who previously served as vice president of marketing, Americas, has been promoted to vice president, global strategy and planning. Dr. Andrews’ new position expands her leadership responsibilities to encompass regional marketing strategy and initiatives—including product launches, programs, and promotions—while maintaining her stewardship of professional, academic and advocacy initiatives, according to the company.

Since joining CooperVision in 2015, Dr. Andrews has built a cross-functional professional and academic affairs team dedicated to supporting eyecare professionals, optometry students and educators across the U.S., Canada and Latin America. She has been instrumental in developing programs such as Best Practices, Generation Sight, and, most recently, The Myopia Collective, the company stated.

“Bringing together the key functions of marketing and professional affairs under a single leader—especially a veteran optometrist with both broad clinical experience and deep industry knowledge—reflects our commitment to advancing the eyecare profession,” said Alex Wilkes, president, Americas, CooperVision. “Michele has distinguished herself through her unwavering dedication to optometry, winning the constant admiration of her colleagues over her decades-long career. Her insights have been integral to our partnerships with practitioners, enhancing how we offer products and programs to benefit patients and practices alike. Michele was a natural choice for this role.”

In her new role, Kiewe is responsible for leading transformational business initiatives that drive continuous improvement and innovation across all aspects of the customer experience around the world, the company said. She has been with CooperVision since 2016.

“In her time at CooperVision, Melissa has spearheaded innovative initiatives and programs that advanced and evolved the eyecare community. It’s a privilege to celebrate and elevate her and Michele into roles in which they’ll have even greater reach and impact,” said Jerry Warner, president, CooperVision. “Both Melissa and Michele are visionaries in the industry, and their expertise and experiences are invaluable to our continued growth and expanded partnerships around the world.”
