ROCKVILLE, Md.—In collaboration with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO), the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) continues to post the pass rate data for every U.S. optometric institution on its website. The data for 2023 can now be found here. Previous years reports, beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, are posted for comparison. “NBEO is pleased to offer ASCO institutions this important data,” said Dr. Jill Bryant, NBEO executive director. “These results are from calculations using the scores of optometry candidates who have graduated during the 2022-2023 academic year as well as attempted all three parts of the exam at least once.”

“The pass rates from our schools and colleges of optometry in the U.S. is very important information for us to have,” said Dr. Mark Colip, ASCO president. “We continue to be steadfast and resolved to ensure our students become the best qualified to enter the health care field of optometry.”

The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) advances optometric education and research to enhance the health and well-being of the public. Founded in 1941 and headquartered in Rockville, MD, ASCO is committed to achieving excellence in optometric education and to helping its member institutions prepare well-qualified graduates for entrance into the profession of optometry.

Its membership encompasses the schools and colleges of optometry in the U.S. A number of optometry schools outside the U.S. are affiliate and associate members.
