Top Line: Eversight, a full-service eye and vision research partner, will integrate optical imaging technology leader LighTopTech's cutting-edge dual modality OCX system into its research and development initiatives. The system combines optical coherence tomography (OCT) with optical coherence microscopy (OCM).
Specifics: LighTopTech's dual modality OCX system is an advanced OCT that offers unparalleled capabilities, with the potential to become a single imaging modality for detailed corneal tissue analysis. “The OCX system represents a significant advancement in ocular imaging technology, and we are confident in its potential to improve clinical precision and support vision research," said Onkar B. Sawant, PhD, vice president of research and development at Eversight. “We are pleased to collaborate with LighTopTech to innovate in the field of ophthalmic imaging and advance vision science to prevent, treat and cure blinding eye conditions.”
Selling Point: Eversight will provide data to LighTopTech to inform OCX software development that aims to automate endothelial cell counting and other eye tissue measurements. The OCX system offers enhanced corneal tissue evaluations in eye bank operations. This confirms tissue processing meets specifications for cornea surgeries and detects anomalies that may render the tissue unsuitable for transplantation. The company said the system also captures diagnostic anterior and posterior segment images for research to better understand retinal diseases.
