Turbo No. 1 (top) and Turbonite.

Quick Take: Porsche Design Eyewear, from De Rigo Rem, has unveiled two limited edition sunglass models to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo.
Specifics: The models are Turbo No. 1 and Turbonite. The Turbo No. 1 sunglasses pay homage to the first Porsche 911 Turbo, which was gifted to Louise Piëch, daughter of Ferdinand Porsche, as a birthday gift in 1974. The grey frame echoes the car’s original grey paint color, while red hooks and temple tips recreate the vehicle’s iconic red plaid interior. The unisex aviator style sunglasses made of lightweight titanium also feature an interchangeable lens system with VisionDrive Lens Technology. With this system, the silver mirrored lenses featuring a tartan pattern can be easily swapped for grey lenses.
The Turbonite sunglasses feature a new metallic grey tone developed specially for the monochrome Porsche crest on Turbo vehicles. It is a unisex, squared aviator made of lightweight titanium and featuring an interchangeable lens system with VisionDrive Lens Technology.
In addition to an embossing of the Porsche Design lettering, both pairs of sunglasses feature the classic “turbo” lettering on the left temple and on the left lens. Both brandings are also etched on the inside of the right temple.
Selling Point: Both models are limited to 1,974 pieces each. The individual limitation number (XXXX/1974) is engraved on the inside of the center of the bridge.
