Quick Take: Persol, from Luxottica, is unveiling its “Icons. Framed since 1917” campaign and accompanying optical styles from the Fall/Winter 2022 collection. Persol also spotlights sun styles from the collection in this campaign.
Specifics: Lucas Bravo stars in the campaign as an actor and director in search of inspiration. Each scene he imagines is brought to life via a series of campaign visuals representing different film genres. Bravos’ character falls in love with Sophie Cookson’s character, showcasing the Persol Fall/Winter 2022 collection against a Roman backdrop.
In the campaign, Bravo wears optical styles PO3297V and PO3296V. PO3297V are inspired by 60s’ cinema and take a bold square shape. PO3296V is a soft square frame with thin temples, drawing inspiration from iconic rom-com characters. Both acetate frames feature Barberini lenses.
Cookson wears optical styles PO3303V and PO3301V. PO3303V is a soft rectangular frame inspired by rom-com characters, while PO3301V is a thicker rectangular frame inspired by some of the thriller genre’s most iconic villains. Both frames are acetate.
Selling Point: Persol global brand director Riccardo Pozzoli said, “Persol and the world of film have gone hand in hand since our 1917 inception. For this campaign, we felt it was necessary to remind our community of Persol’s cinematic roots. Analogue film is amongst the most authentic expressions of craftsmanship, as is our handmade approach to manufacturing eyewear. Lucas Bravo and Sophie Cookson are contemporary film icons who inspire their audiences both on- and off-screen. It is with great excitement that we narrate the Persol story through these protagonists.”
