Quick Take: Mykita has announced a limited edition eyewear design created with Korean painter Park Seo-Bo. This collaborative project transports colors from the artist’s famous monochromes onto Mykita eyewear.
Specifics: The 1 of 0 frame with Mykita was the last project Park Seo-Bo worked on personally before his passing. The round frame with a curved nose bridge is available in three colorways: Maple Leaf, Golden Olive and Charcoal. These color choices reflect the artist’s iconic style. Each color is available in 333 pieces. Every 1 of 0 frame arrives with a certificate of authenticity, specially developed packaging made from traditional Korean hanji paper and a limited edition cleaning cloth printed with the artwork that inspired the frame.
Selling Point: Park Ji-Fan, grandson of Park Seo-Bo, said, “My grandfather had a particular taste in eyewear and was a longtime, avid wearer of Mykita. He was excited about this opportunity to work on his own design, and I think the resulting frames gave him much joy to wear personally.”
Moritz Kreuger, founder of Myktia, said, “It was an honor to realize this project with Park Seo-Bo, a true master and pioneer in his field, whose minimalist, beautifully crafted and richly detailed works so connected with our own sensibilities. Despite the distance, we enjoyed a very analogue development process between Berlin and Seoul, and deeply appreciated the real and honest nature of our creative exchange.”
