Product: Latinos en Optometry has launched a new website and new domain name.
Top Line: The redesigned site features information and resources for prospective and current optometry students, including a series of archived and upcoming free webinars. The webinars are supported by Transitions Optical and feature Latinos en Optometry board members who share their experiences and offer advice to support and inspire students to consider a career in optometry.
Close Up: Eyecare provider members are listed in Latinos en Optometry’s “Find an Eyecare Professional” section on the new website to help patients find ECPs in their area. Providers are able to note if doctors and/or staff at their practice speak Spanish. The site’s Patients and Caregivers section offers general information and resources for commonly reported problems.
Vital Statistics: Membership to Latinos en Optometry is free to all students interested in a career in optometry or related eyecare profession, those currently enrolled in a certified college of optometry, allied health profession, education, and rehabilitation program or in an optometric residency or a fellowship program. Low-cost professional membership is also available, with discounts to first-year practitioners and retired professionals who wish to support the activities of the association. All 2024 memberships will run through December 31, 2025.
