AUSTIN, Texas—VisionWeb, a premier provider of cloud-based technology services and other offerings for the optical industry, is celebrating 20 years in business in the optical sector. The tech company, which developed the first open and neutral online order processing platform for optical, has processed more than 180 million online orders, and now connects with over 450 optical labs and suppliers, according to the recent announcement about its 20-year milestone. The firm has been recognized by Vision Monday and 20/20 magazines’ Reader’s Choice Awards as the best online ordering website for nine consecutive years.

“Since 2000, we have been true to our mission of providing the eyecare industry with technology solutions that enable eyecare providers to automate business processes and increase overall office efficiency,” Tom Loveless, president and chief executive officer of VisionWeb, said, reflecting on the company’s 20th anniversary. “The continued growth of our entire line of products and services represents the eagerness of eyecare providers to utilize modern technology in a way that enhances their practice’s daily functions.”

VisionWeb was founded in 2000 by Essilor of America and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care as an independent company focused on delivering speed, efficiency and connectivity between suppliers and eyecare practices to fulfill patient orders for spectacle lenses, frames, and contacts.

Over 20,000 eyecare providers in the U.S. and across the globe, use VisionWeb to place their online ophthalmic product orders. Through their online ophthalmic product ordering service, VisionWeb’s technology helps eyecare providers, laboratories, and manufacturers drive out inefficiency, increase customer satisfaction, and improve their bottom line, the firm noted.

Over the last two decades VisionWeb’s business has grown and expanded to include an entire suite of services supporting the eyecare industry, including Uprise, an all-in-one, cloud-based EHR and practice management software for eyecare providers, and Revenue Cycle Management Services that allow practices to outsource the claim filing and billing aspects of their practice to VisionWeb’s team of experts so they can focus more on patient care in the practice.

Loveless added, “Today, we are excited to celebrate the past 20 years, but even more importantly, we are looking forward to the next 20 years of providing even more impactful solutions for the eyecare industry.”
