CINCINNATI—R&D Optical Lab, a new, full-service wholesale lab, recently began operations here. The lab is focused on “assisting independent eyecare providers and their ability to produce the difficult and challenging jobs,” according to its founder, veteran lab executive Ronald Cooke, Jr. Cooke has 27 years of experience in the lab business, most of which was with Diversified Ophthalmics where he held various positions including director of labs, director of sales and chief operations officer.

During his time at Diversified he strengthened the lab network and the company’s relationships with the independent eyecare providers across the country.

“I believe there are many offices who are interested in doing business with small labs who can give them the service and quality their patients expect,” said Cooke. “As a small lab, R&D Optical is nimble and can meet every need of our customers.”

He added, “With the strong team of employees, each with 27 years of experience in the optical lab business, we fully expect to provide the highest quality products at a reasonable price. In addition, we will focus on the newest technologies available today.”
