DENVER—IDOC, a privately held alliance of independent optometrists, hosted more than 300 independent optometrists, staff members and vendor partners during its fall National Conference. The meeting was held Oct. 25 to 28 at the Grand Hyatt here.

IDOC president and chief executive officer Dave Brown addressed attendees on the topic of “Focused on What Matters” during the meeting. Other highlights included: a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF). The team of IDOC consultants and industry leaders also addressed attendees on various optometric topics, including the future of retail in optical, using digital technology to increase practice revenue, marketing strategies, key performance metrics, and “A to Z of Employing Associate ODs.”


IDOC meetings also featured full-day roundtable session where independent optometrists discuss key issues and share their solutions. “Our conferences keep growing in both audience and educational benefits for attendees,” Brown noted in a statement. “These meetings offer ODs invaluable guidance and practical information that can help them grow and maintain their business.”

IDOC, which was founded in 1999, will host two National Conferences in 2018: a winter national meeting in Orlando, Fla., from Feb. 15 to 17, and a summer national meeting at the Swissotel in Chicago, from Aug. 15 to 18.
