FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - ClearVision Optical is launching a new and innovative memory metal series called Izod PerformX. Noting that the Izod name is recognized for clean, modern, masculine designs that keep up with a sporty and active lifestyle, the new collection features premium materials and quality features and adds the benefits of memory metal designs.

The new Izod PerformX line targets the modern, active male consumer.

Brand manager, Cathy Kaye, of ClearVision, noted, “The Izod consumer values premium metal designs such as titanium, beta titanium and surgical stainless steel because they are fabrications that can hold up to their active lifestyle needs. Therefore, it was a natural transition for ClearVision Optical to introduce memory metal designs into the Izod collection with PerformX.”

The new series is comprised of eight ophthalmic frame designs for men. The bridge and temple components, made from memory metal, are composed of premium Japanese memory alloy. Due to the flexible quality of the memory metal temple, the need for a spring hinge has been eliminated. The bridge’s resiliency features a durable tube-soldered construction. Other component details include OBE smooth movement hinges and safety rim lock screws, in addition to a soft, custom, double injected, thermoplastic temple tip. One temple tip design adds a sporty splash of contrasting color with an inlaid PerformX logo seal. The other tip design takes a clean and simple approach with a cool and modern “PFX” logo.

The line includes an array of youthful, narrow shapes, a popular double bridge bar style, plus several fuller shapes that can accommodate traditional progressive prescriptions. The color palette includes wine, cobalt blue, pewter, gunmetal, black and brown. Each Izod PerformX style is being offered in two sizes and two colors, plus a variety of eye sizes that range from 48 to 54.

New POP and a 16-piece rotator display is part of the merchandising support for Izod PerformX.

Complimentary with each Izod PerformX frame is a fashionable hard case with a sporty texturized material. The price point for this new series is $59.99 to the dispenser.

To support the introduction of Izod PerformX into the market, there will be an enticing launch program with an attractive POP package. This POP line includes a 16- piece rotator with a removable mirror, a counter card, a postcard and a brand ID.
