ABB Optical Group ‘Re-Introduces’ its Brand and Reorganizes Services Under Three Business Groups

LAS VEGAS—ABB Optical Group, a leading national provider of optical products and business solutions for the eyecare industry, announced at Vision Expo West this week that it is “re-introducing” its brand. The rebrand and introduction of product, service and business solutions represent the latest efforts in its decades-long commitment to providing high-quality products and services to more than two-thirds of eyecare professionals throughout the U.S., the announcement noted. Founded in 1989 by Angel Alvarez, ABB Optical Group began as a distributor of soft contact lenses, and has significantly expanded its operations over the years, eventually growing into the leading distributor of optical products in the U.S., the announcement noted.

ABB’s value to its customers and the industry goes far beyond distribution, the announcement said, and ABB Optical is committed to ensuring that ECPs succeed by helping them grow revenue, improve efficiencies, increase profitably and navigate market changes.

According to the announcement, the company has reorganized its services and solutions into three new groups: ABB Contact Lens, ABB Labs and ABB Business Solutions.

ABB Contact Lens is the leading authorized distributor for all major soft contact lens manufacturers and the industry’s foremost manufacturer of custom soft and gas-permeable contact lenses, the company said. ABB Labs offers ECPs fabrication of a wide selection of brand-name digital lens designs and AR coatings, as well as its own proprietary products. ABB Labs’ fully automated laboratories feature multiple fabrication lines, onsite AR coating capabilities as well as lens finishing centers and frames distribution, according to the company.

ABB Business Solutions provides ECPs with operational solutions to help them attract and retain patients and drive efficiencies in their practices. The company will collaborate with industry leaders to offer new products and services to its ECP customers, and this group also features a practice performance optimization platform, vision care benefits optimization system, patient communication system, an automated contact lens reordering platform, and other services.

The five new solutions supporting ECPs are:

· ABB Analyze, powered by Glimpse: Practice performance and dashboard analytics software.

· ABB AutoShip: Gives patients the convenience to order and receive their contact lenses when and where it works for them.

· ABB Educate: Online and in-person training for ECPs and optical staff.

· ABB Verify: Benefits and managed care verification technology.

· ABB Connect: Loyalty driving marketplace platform.
