ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Vision Council Foundation, a leading advocate for the vision industry, has announced its support for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and the annual commemorative holiday, World Sight Day. World Sight Day will be celebrated on October 10, 2024, and emphasizes the importance of proper eyecare while urging people everywhere to love their eyes, according to the announcement. This year’s World Sight Day campaign will shine a light on children’s eye health and aims to achieve a reality where children around the world have access to safe, affordable and reliable resources to reach and maintain healthy vision.

Recognizing and addressing vision issues early on can be life changing and has a great impact on a child’s education and future success in all facets of life, according to the announcement.
