ROUND ROCK, Texas—IDOC, an independent, service-focused alliance supporting more than 3,200 independent ODs, has announced that its annual conference, The Connection, is scheduled for February 13-16, 2025, at the Kalahari Resort located here. The theme, “Ignite Your Vision,” was designed to spark innovative ideas and strategies for independent optometrists, optical staff and practice managers across the country, according to the group. The Connection offers members and prospective members a chance to grow, innovate, and connect, IDOC said.

With expert-led keynotes, training opportunities and networking sessions, this event is designed for individuals looking for new ideas to implement in their practice.

Events highlights include three different keynote speakers, including Eric Termuende on the first day, who will share insights on “The Future of Work.” As the cofounder of NoW of Work and author of "Rethink Work," Termuende combines entertainment with actionable strategies, according to the announcement. The second day of the meeting will feature respected consultants Sharon Carter and Dr. Lynn Lawrence, who will break down “How to Implement Organizational Change.”

The second day of the conference will include optical staff training with Quantum Optical’s Pinnacle Program. Developed by opticians and optical instructors, this two-day course offers comprehensive training for new hires and existing staff. Participants will acquire essential skills in Rx analysis, refractive errors, lenses and frame types, along with hands-on experience using optical tools and equipment. The program is designed to reduce remakes, enhance patient satisfaction, decrease staff turnover, and boost second pair sales, empowering your practice for success, according to IDOC.

Attendees will also have time to connect with vendor partners and discover innovative products, technologies and practice support from more than 60 vendor partners exhibiting in The Sponsor Marketplace. Individuals can also take advantage of exclusive show specials and engage in more than 10 hours of networking events, according to the announcement.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in collaborative roundtable discussions to engage in interactive discussions, share best practices, tackle common challenges and collaborate on innovative solutions. The conference will also offer breakout sessions designed to meet the evolving needs of independent optometry practices.

IDOC said it plans to close the event with “Ignite the Night”—an evening of networking and celebration. To learn more and register for The Connection 2025: Ignite Your Vision, click here.
