EYECARE PECAA and VSP Vision Extend Vision Exam Rebate Through 2025 By Staff Monday, September 9, 2024 12:24 AM BOCA RATON, Fla. and RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA), one of the nation’s largest communities of independent eyecare professionals, and VSP Vision have announced the extension of the VSP Vision Exam Rebate through 2025, offering doctors the opportunity to receive up to $10 per VSP commercial eye exam, and as much as $60,000 in total incremental revenue next year. To date, more than 2,000 practices have benefited from $20 million for the care they deliver to patients, according to the announcement. “Doctor response to the Vision Exam Rebate is resounding, and this innovative membership benefit is a clear demonstration of the unique value that PECAA and VSP Vision deliver to private practices,” said PECAA president Jonathan Worrall. “We hear every day from doctors who credit the rebate with their ability to invest in staff training, new technology and more. We’re proud to extend this offer that’s a differentiator for independent eyecare.” Originally launched in July 2023, the rebate was extended through 2024 and subsequently enhanced by doubling the value. Delivered as a one-stop solution, the Dry Eye Partners program is available at no fee to PECAA Max members and provides a variety of education and consultation services, as well as deep discounts on the products and equipment used in treating dry eye disease. The program is available now in California, Colorado, Florida and Texas, and will expand nationwide in 2025, according to the organization. Dry eye was ranked as the second top area of specialty among those surveyed for the Eyes On Eyecare 2024 Dry Eye Report, and will account for 42 percent of practices’ clinical focus over the next 12 months. Further, with the prevalence of dry eye disease increasing—approximately 16 million Americans have been diagnosed and many others are undiagnosed—and the global dry eye market’s $2.13 billon growth forecast, the group noted that independents have a timely opportunity to offer dry eye services to help manage this ocular disorder. According to the organization, PECAA Max members who participate in the Dry Eye Partners program will receive: customized dry eye strategy planning and implementation; clinical and staff education; equipment and treatment selection assistance; facility layout consultation; marketing implementation and referral outreach; local peer-to-peer events focused on dry eye management; and competitive pricing with IncentivEYES Rebates. Among the nation’s largest community of independent eyecare professionals, PECAA provides members access to more than 200 vendor partner programs, a customizable suite of industry-leading business advisory services, and connection to a community of growth-minded peers offering a network of support.
