MIAMI—iCare Health Solutions, a VSP Vision company, has announced the acquisition of Beraja Medical Group, a Florida-based provider of comprehensive ophthalmology and optometry care. Beraja Medical Group will continue to operate as it does today, according to the announcement, but as part of iCare Health Solutions, a large integrated eyecare provider in Florida. All doctors and staff will continue in their respective roles, the company noted. “The addition of Beraja Medical Group advances our commitment to deliver comprehensive and high-quality eyecare,” said iCare Health Solutions CEO Lee Stern.

“This acquisition supports our ability to expand access to care and continue providing best-in-class patient outcomes for our members, health plan partners, and the communities we serve,” Stern added.

Based in Coral Gables, Fla., Beraja Medical Group has served the region for more than 35 years through its clinic and state-of-the-art surgical center, according to the announcement. It provides a full spectrum of eyecare services, including cataract surgery and other surgical treatments as well as routine eye exams, and operates optical and contact lens departments.

“Joining iCare Health Solutions is a natural fit, as our organizations share a passion and reputation for providing the very best in patient care,” said Dr. Victor Beraja, founder of Beraja Medical Group. “We are excited to continue our work together and meet the growing eyecare needs of our market.”
