MISSION VIEJO, Calif.—Total Vision has announced the addition of the Dr. Rob Henslick Vision Center practice to its network of optometry practices in California. Dr. Henslick brings more than 30 years of experience in taking care of patients in the Saddleback Valley, and most recently operating his private practice in Laguna Niguel, Calif. The Laguna Niguel practice is one of the largest in Orange County, according to the Total Vision announcement this week. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Henslick obtained his undergraduate degree in physiology from U.C. Berkeley in 1984 and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 1988. He specializes in contact lenses and treats ocular disease and infection. His highly experienced team has over 100 years of work in the eyecare industry.

“Dr. Henslick and his associate, Dr. [Edyta] Klimek, embody the Total Vision concept of meeting all of our patient’s needs,” Total Vision chief medical officer Dr. Steve Klein said. “Whether it is glasses and contacts, glaucoma, dry eye, Lasik or cataracts, Dr. Henslick’s team is able to take care of nearly everyone who walks through his doors.”

Dr. Henslick also has a record of charitable work. He set up a vision clinic in Kitale, Kenya, in February 2007, within a small cottage hospital called Sister Freda's Medical Clinic. Overall, he has taken 19 mission trips to Kenya and dispensed more than 8,000 pairs of glasses. He has treated thousands of eye infections and diseases such as glaucoma, thanks to the generous support and donations of eyecare companies Alcon and Allergan.

“This is an exciting time for us to welcome Dr. Henslick with his background and experience in optometry as we continue to expand our footprint in California,” Total Vision chief executive officer Neil Collier said in the announcement. Total Vision’s management team also includes chief financial officer Doug Cannon and Dr. Klein.
