What’s New: Silhouette is debuting its Clear Sky collection, the first-ever eyewear collection using its new bio-circular material made with organic waste.
What’s Green: Made with organic waste from industries like agriculture, forestry and aquaculture, SPX Green+ reduces climate impact by using 100 percent renewable energy. It reduces carbon emissions by 60 percent compared with the production process of traditional raw material made from fossil fuels. The 8 pieces in the debut Clear Sky collection draw inspiration from the vibrant and translucent hues of thriving Mediterranean ecosystems. Shapes include vintage-inspired pantos, sleek cat eyes, timeless rectangles and more.
What to Know: Silhouette CMO and third-generation member of Silhouette’s founding family Michael Schmied said, “There is a major shift going on with consumer behavior; the idea of sustainable goods and services is a priority. Clear Sky is our solution to a problem we all face with climate change, one frame at a time.”
Alongside the launch, Silhouette is partnering with global sustainability advocate and model Arizona Muse, who stars in the new “The World We Want to See” campaign. Arizona said, “This is a big step forward for the optical and fashion industries. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Silhouette, a company committed to fossil fuel reduction and crafting with materials that are better for our planet. The Clear Sky collection is everything I’m looking for in eyewear and fashion.”
