PENNSAUKEN, N.J.—Windsor Eyes, Inc. has announced an exclusive partnership to distribute Mita Sustainable Eyewear to U.S. based eyecare professionals. All Mita products are made from recycled water bottles, recycled aluminum and sustainable lenses, the company said. Packaging is also produced with recycled materials: one cleaning cloth is produced from one water bottle; one frame case is produced from two water bottles; one soft pouch is produced from two water bottles; and one frame is produced from five water bottles, according to the announcement. The collection includes both optical and sun wear styles catering to a culturally diverse audience of men and women and has won awards at both Mido and Vision Expo this year.

Glenn Kitnick, project manager at Windsor, said, “Windsor and Mita are passionate about making a positive impact on sustainability through our 100 percent upcycling process which repurposes water bottles to create quality eyewear, reducing the amount of litter in the world’s oceans.”

Paulino Diaz, partner at Windsor Eyes, said, “We know the market is growing for green eyewear and we see the influx of companies with environmental claims. For Windsor, we want to make a commitment with a brand pioneer that could back up the sustainable claims and share our belief that high fashion shouldn’t come at the expense of our environment.”
