DALLAS—The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) has announced an OWA Global Event at Mido in Milan, as expansion plans for the organization continue to reach out to women in the optical industry internationally. Sponsored by Mido, this event, “Breaking Barriers: Optical Women Who Conquered the Climb to Success,” will feature a panel of accomplished executive leaders facilitated by OWA vice president Megan Molony. The event will begin with an introduction from Lorraine Berton, president of ANFAO and Mido, and will be followed by a panel including Malika Azrine-Bouferquene of EssilorLuxottica, Barbara Salimbeni of Marchon Eyewear and Sara Osculati  of Thelios, who will share insights into their journeys in the optical industry.

The discussion will focus on the challenges they faced, including overcoming gender bias, managing work-life balance and navigating corporate structures. “Breaking Barriers: Optical Women Who Conquered the Climb to Success” will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. on The Vision Stage at Mido, which is located near the entrance to Pavilion 1. The event will also include networking, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
