DALLAS—The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) has announced the formation of an International Expansion Committee, bringing the association beyond U.S. borders and expanding its membership to impact women’s lives globally. In line with these expansion efforts, the OWA will host the “OWA Global Connection Event,” at Silmo on Friday, September 20, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Slimo Talks stage on the trade show floor. This free event, sponsored by Silmo, will allow attendees to learn about the OWA’s core benefits and activities, as well as international expansion plans. Several OWA past presidents and OWA members will be in attendance.

The OWA’s International Expansion Committee (IEC) is “focused on building a strategic plan for awareness, networking, and outreach to optical women in other countries,” the association explained. In a release, the OWA said, “Our mission is to empower, educate and support optical women across different cultures and continents, fostering a world where every woman can realize her full potential. The OWA will remain a U.S.-based organization welcoming global members and sponsor companies.”

The OWA Global Connection Event is free, but space is limited so advance registration is recommended. Interested attendees can RSVP online here by September 19.
