The nominees for this award will be announced in VMail on July 1. The winner of this award will be determined by the entry that receives the most reader votes on www.VisionMonday.com/DARE between July 1 and Aug. 9. Selection by the panel for this category does not disqualify the chosen retailers from consideration in the other categories. Entries can be submitted from 12:00am on May 6, 2013 through 11:59pm on June 14, 2013. There is NO FEE to submit an entry. To qualify for a D.A.R.E. Award the retailer or eye care provider must: • be based in the U.S. or Canada. • have a primary business function that is the retailing or dispensing of prescription eyewear or sunwear. • have been continuously operating since May 1, 2012 and still be in operation. A retailer or eyecare provider may nominate their own company, in one or multiple award categories, if they meet these criteria. Supplier or agency nominations of qualifying retailers or ECPs are encouraged but must include all required supporting materials and field information. Duplicate entries from the same nominator (as determined by email address) in the same award category are discouraged and will not increase your chance of being selected. To be eligible for consideration, a qualifying retailer or ECP must complete all of the mandatory fields in the Entry Form as marked by a red asterisks (*). Additionally, they must submit a statement of between 150 and 500 words and supporting materials (only a minimum of three and a maximum of six will be considered.) Submissions may include, but are not limited to, imaginative or creative use of supplier-provided collateral materials. The most daring retailers in each of these Award categories as determine by our panel of expert Judges, as well as the winner of the “We the People” reader vote award, will be recognized in the Sept. 9 print issue of Vision Monday and featured on VisionMonday.com, as well as on the sites of D.A.R.E.’s 2013 Exclusive Sponsor, Europa International. Vision Monday and Europa will also highlight the contest, process and honorees in their Facebook pages and Twitter posts.
