MELVILLE, N.Y.—Marchon is teaming up again with The EyeRock Band to raise funds for optical non-profit organizations in Las Vegas during International Vision Expo West. The annual event, which attracts between 7,000 and 9,000 attendees, will benefit The Guide Dog Foundation and Optometry Giving Sight, and will take place at the 22-acre Flamingo Hilton Gardens on Friday, Oct. 8, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Last year’s party raised funds for a variety of non-profits.

“The EyeRock Band, consisting of musicians from the optical industry appeared at Marchon’s party in 2009, marking the first time the company invited sponsors to participate,” said Donna Rollins, vice president of U.S. sales operations for Marchon. “The industry responded enthusiastically generating $50,000 in contributions. The party was as usual, a really fun evening …it was truly a ‘fun raiser.’”

All attendees and exhibitors Expo West are invited to the admission free party. Guests will receive one complimentary cocktail or two soft drinks. Tickets for additional drinks will be available at $5 each, with all proceeds donated to the two charities. Sponsors of the EyeRock band will receive reserved seating in the VIP section.

Sponsors to date include VSP, VSPOptics, Eyefinity/OfficeMate; Carl Zeiss Vision, Essilor, Ocuco and A&R Optical, according to Rollins, who added that sponsorship opportunities are still available. The Jobson Optical Group is the official media sponsor.
