NEW YORK—A new Sergio Cereda Design Award will be formally announced at Vision Expo East on March 16, a second initiative created in honor of eyewear designer Sergio Cereda to recognize distinctive and emerging talent in the eyewear industry. The North American Award follows the creation of the European award to honor Cereda, which was successfully launched at the Mido exhibition in Milan on Feb. 3, as

Kering Eyewear revenues hit a new record of €1.5 billion (up 35 percent as reported and up 10 percent on a comparable basis), "benefiting from the consolidation of Maui Jim and excellent development of the brand portfolio." In the fourth quarter, sales were up 6 percent on a comparable basis.

PARIS—Within the Kering Group's (PARIS:KER) financial results for the third fiscal quarter of 2023, issued yesterday, the company reported global revenues for
Kering Eyewear for the period reached €330 million, an increase of 34 percent from the prior year's third quarter, the company said, citing the contribution of Maui Jim. Kering Eyewear sales in the Q3 were up 2 percent on a comparable basis. "Growth was mainly driven by sales of optical frames following very strong sales of sunglasses in the first half of the year," the company noted, adding in its presentation to the financial release that comparable growth was driven by Japan and APAC regions.
