A quiz released by qzzr encourages consumers and kids to learn facts about their eyes and raise awareness about the importance of regular eye exams.

The fun set of questions draws information from the American Optometric Association (AOA), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and VSP, among others, proposing eye facts in the form of true or false statements. After each question is answered, a description of the correct answer is unveiled.

True or False:
    1. About 33 percent of your brain is devoted to helping you see (False)
    2. Today’s digital high-tech cameras and mobile phone cameras now have the ability to focus faster than the human eye. (False)
    3. A scratch on your eye’s cornea takes the same amount of time to heal as your skin. (False)
    4. If you put on a pair of glasses that flipped images upside down, eventually your eyes and brain would interpret those images to be right sight up. (True)
    5. If you have perfect vision, you need regular eye exams. (True)
    6. Your eyes are capable of processing 12,000 bits of information every hour.
    7. If you’ve had your vision checked by a family doctor or school nurse using an eye chart, then an eye exam isn’t needed. (False)
    8. An eyecare professional can diagnose diabetes by looking inside your eyes. (True)

The quiz was created to generate participation in the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care #EyePledge leading up to World Sight Day (Oct. 9, 2014). It’s still a fun way to share eye facts and get patients and kids aware of their eye health and excited about their next eye exam. See if you can get all eight correct!
