CARLSBAD, Calif.—A record number of clients of The Power Practice, the nationally known optometric practice management consulting firm, recently attended the company’s 12th annual client meeting here.

After a fun filled evening headlined by “The Power Band,” a rock band consisting of Power Practice Clients, the doctors spent the following day in an innovative leadership training session keynoted by Dr. Angie Paccione from Verus Global. The meeting was attended by doctors from more than 30 states.

Creating, leading and sustaining inspired teams was the focus of the meeting and doctors left with real life, meaningful, actionable impactful tools they can use to grow their practices even further, said Gary Gerber, OD, founder of The Power Practice.

Several doctors were honored at the awards session. A new category, highest Net Promoter Score (NPS) was added for the first time and the two winners were, with NPS scores over 90, Drs. Laurie Sorrenson and Tom Arnold. “Laurie and Tom have a relentless focus on creating and sustaining a high quality experience for their patients, said Gerber. Their high NPS scores reflect the focus of their teams on that crucial metric.”

Walking away with the “Rookie of the Year” awards, given to doctors showing the highest growth during their first year as clients, were Drs. Rose Susel-Lucente, Perry Lucente and Brian Cohen. Cohen’s grand opening was attended by over 500 people and Susel-Lucente, after only one year of practice, has already eclipsed most industry norms.

Viktoria Davis, OD from Madelia, Minn. won best practice recall.

The Chief Dream Officers Circle awards go to four practices who exhibit the highest growth among all clients and contribute to the growth of other clients. The winners were Drs. Nathan Schramm, Julie Abraham, Jeffrey Kenyon, Amie Gisbert, Gary Gerber and Scott Lauer.

One doctor from the Chief Dream Officers Circle is awarded the “Practice of the Year” distinction and this years’ winner was Dr. Jeffrey Kenyon of Blackstone Valley Eye Care in Woonsocket, R.I.

“Dr. Kenyon and his team embody the key practice building principles of The Power Practice. He’s laser focused on his practice mission and as a result, even with an already large established practice, still had a 40 percent increase,” Gerber said.
