NEW YORK—Los Angeles-based eyewear brand Dita celebrated its first East Coast boutique opening in SoHo with an intimate cocktail party and dinner last month. Leading VIP editors, designers and socialites, including Harley Viera-Newton, Leandra Medine and Bryan Boy, toasted to the artisanal sunglass and optical specialist company’s latest endeavor.

“We are excited to bring our West Coast aesthetic to the East Coast,” said John Juniper and Jeff Solorio, co-founders of Dita. “New York City is always an inspiration for us and we are thrilled to be opening a store in the most dynamic city in the world.”

Driven by a desire to create innovative, finely crafted eyewear with a totally unique look and feel, Juniper and Solorio created Dita in 1995, the company said. Each pair of frames is handcrafted in Japan by specialist artisans in the field of ophthalmics.

Following its inaugural store in Los Angeles and its flagship in Tokyo, the 900-square foot SoHo boutique was designed by Tag Front architecture studio, a firm that has collaborated with the brand for years and has designed Dita boutiques globally. The new boutique is located at 273 Lafayette Street.
