ALEXANDRIA, Va.— Think About Your Eyes (TAYE) has partnered with seven new state associations, bringing the total number of associations to eight, according to an announcement from the organization. In addition to a partnership with the South Dakota Optometric Society, which first enrolled in August 2014, the new state partnerships include the optometric associations of West Virginia, Mississippi, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas and Washington.

TAYE’s national awareness campaign seeks to educate consumers on the benefits of vision health. The website, which features an eyecare provider locator tool, allows visitors to find any enrolled Think About Your Eyes member.

The cost of a basic listing on the website is fully covered by the state association under the Think About Your Eyes State Leadership Program, and doctors are also offered a discounted rate to upgrade to premium. The total number of doctors listed on the locator is currently over 7,500. In the states where optometric associations have not enrolled, eyecare providers can purchase individual listings.

The campaign will highlight the importance of annual eye exams, recognizing signs of eye strain and their overall health impact. With the digital ads placed on computer, mobile and tablet platforms as well as 5,000 television spots and 540,000 radio spots, the advertising push is estimated to reach 129 million adults and generate 1.1 billion impressions throughout 2015.

Current partners of TAYE include The Vision Council, the American Optometric Association, All About Vision, Gunnar Optiks, National Vision, Inc. (NVI), SpecialEyes, SPY, Hilco, Walman Optical, Transitions, Fatheadz, Chemistrie Eyewear, Essilor, Luxottica Group, Eschenbach, Alcon, and VisionWorks.

Eyecare providers can enroll at www.thinkaboutyoureyes.com/enroll while doctors who are members of their state associations and AOA are able to enroll at the best available price at www.thinkaboutyoureyes.com/aoa.
