VANCOUVER, British Columbia—Online eyeglasses and contact lenses retailer, Coastal.com (NASDAQ: COA) (TSX: COA) announced yesterday that it plans to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment in the coming months. “As an e-commerce company, we're excited to see digital currency gaining momentum,” said Roger Hardy, founder and CEO of Coastal.com. “We're continuously looking for new innovative approaches in order to best service our customers.”
 
Bitcoin will be offered as a payment method on the Coastal.com website along with Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, PayPal and BillMeLater. “We want to offer our customers the ability to choose whichever payment method is most convenient for them,” said Braden Hoeppner, vice president of web sales of Coastal.com. “We've had customers request a digital currency alternative in the past so we're excited to implement this change as quickly as possible.”
