LAS VEGAS— Adlens, a global leader in variable focus technology, will unveil its Focuss by Adlens variable focus progressive lenses here today and will jointly announce with LensCrafters, a U.S. retail division of Luxottica (NYSE:LUX), a partnership to test the product via an exclusive arrangement through the first half of 2014, VMail has learned.

The new Focuss lenses use proprietary variable focus technology, the company said, to incorporate distance and reading into one shared lens. Users turn a dial on the side of the frame and their prescription will adjust to a range of customized powers from distance to intermediate to reading prescriptions, according to Adlens.

Ferrara, CEO and executive chairman of Adlens.  He added, “We are pleased to be partnering with LensCrafters, an iconic retailer that is synonymous with innovation and progress as we seek to push the industry forward with new ideas, better products and technology that can change the world.”

Eric Anderson, president and general manager of LensCrafters, said, “LensCrafters is the known industry leader for introducing the latest lens technology for customers, to enhance vision care and the customer experience. We are excited to partner with Adlens to qualify this breakthrough technology. The Adlens partnership gives LensCrafters a unique opportunity to exclusively test and learn how to transform the multifocal wearing experience using this new technology. We have exclusivity through the first half of 2014.”
