RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Vision has announced that it has been certified by Great Place to Work, an award based on what current employees say about their experience working at the company. VSP Vision also announced that it has been selected as 2024 U.S. Best Managed Company gold standard winner for the fourth consecutive year. In recognition of the Great Place to Work certification, 81 percent of employees said VSP Vision is a great place to work—24 points higher than the average U.S. company, according to the announcement. Great Place to Work identifies itself as the global benchmark for workplace culture, employee experience and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation.

“We are proud to receive the 2024 Great Place to Work Certification. This achievement is about our employees—each team member shapes our culture and contributes to making VSP Vision a special place to work,” said VSP Vision chief human resources officer Kristi Cappelletti-Matthews. “This recognition reflects our shared commitment to creating a workplace that’s inclusive, purpose-driven, and collaborative.”

“Great Place to Work certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of global recognition at Great Place to Work.

The 2024 U.S. Best Managed Company Gold Standard honors organizations that have been recognized for four or more years, according to the announcement. Sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, the program recognizes the achievements of U.S. private companies and the successes of their management teams.

Among the reasons VSP Vision was selected for repeat recognition as a U.S. Best Managed Company was for the introduction of the company’s first Social Responsibility Impact Report launched in 2023, the announcement noted, which spotlights key initiatives undertaken by the organization in alignment with its stated commitment to accelerate health equity, advance sustainability and empower diversity, equity and inclusion.

“Receiving this recognition four years in a row is a great honor,” said VSP Vision president and CEO Michael Guyette. “Powered by our purpose and a commitment to our stakeholders, we’re proud to continue executing on our strategy and driving growth, while always fostering a culture of care for our clients, members, network doctors and employees.”
