Wearer: The quintessential Alice + Olivia girl who loves sophisticated yet stylish frames.
Specifics: The collection is comprised of 16 styles of sunglasses including a signature “Stacey” frame in the classic oversized round shape Bendet traditionally wears.
Selling Points: Consisting of handmade Italian acetate sunglasses, the frames come in bold shapes including oversized cat eyes, squares and 80s inspired rounds. Swarovski crystals, stainless steel studs and pops of color bring original elements to fun silhouettes.
“Eyewear is a critical component of my personal style,” Bendet said. “As such, entering the eyewear category has been on my priority list for a long time. Designing this first collection has been an incredibly fun experience. I am thrilled to bring a new category to our girl through this partnership with Eponym.”
The first portion of the collection will launch this month in all U.S. Alice + Olivia stores, with selected wholesale partners and on aliceandolivia.com. The remainder of the collection will continue delivering to these destinations in various small segments through May 2017. International distribution will follow.
“The Eponym team has long admired Stacey Bendet and the Alice + Olivia brand,” Andrew Lipovsky, co-founder and CEO of Eponym said. “We’re thrilled to partner with them and help develop iconic styles that, combined with our unique distribution model, will set a new standard in the eyewear market.”

SECOND LOOKS
Modo Debuts Derek Lam 2017 Sun Styles
![]() More Images |
Specifics: New shapes and color options
Selling Points: Derek Lam took inspiration from Georgia O’Keefe, Robert Ryman and Frida Kahlo for the creation of this collection. “These artists explored ideas from all angles and then reworked them again, and our SS17 styles use color and texture to extend the concept. We take the thick acetates of the 1970s style and update them with gold detailing to create new definition of classic shapes,” the company said.
The Charlotte style is an oversized pilot shape that was named after model, Charlotte Coquelin who wore the sunglasses in the Derek Lam show. It comes in iris, bone, black and amber. The Clara style is an exaggerated cat eye that stands out with colors like black, nude crystal, red smoke and brown forest while the Anita style, a large square, emphasizes classic yet modern 70s styling with shades of amber, misty nude, Havana tort and classic black.
Along with the new shapes, the SS17 collection is also launching new colorways all with gold metal detailing at the bridge and temples for the Madison sunglass style. This style is now available in powder pink, deep, dark red feather and black crystal tortoise shades.
