Tracy Matchinski, OD, FAAO, FVI
ORLANDO, Fla.—The American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF), in collaboration with the Fredric and Marion Rosemore Family Foundation, announced the 2021 recipient of the Fredric Rosemore Low Vision Educational Grant. Tracy Matchinski, OD, FAAO, FVI, is an associate professor at the Illinois Eye Institute—Rosenbloom Center, Low Vision Rehabilitative Services in Chicago, Illinois. Her team includes Drs. Mallory McLaughlin, OD, FAAO, Danielle Piser, OD, and Janis Winters, OD, FAAO, according to an announcement from the American Academy of Optometry Foundation.

Dr. Matchinski and her team stated their proposal, “Development of multimedia instructional video library for optometry students to enhance their ability to perform Low Vision Rehabilitation (LVR) skills in the clinical setting,” is intended to improve the quality of life for low vision patients.

Dr. Matchinski has been practicing optometry for 25 years and is an expert on low vision rehabilitation, a field of great importance in addressing visual impairment across the world. She has published and assisted in updating education modules used internationally.
