Quick Take: Morgenthal Frederics has announced a new limited collection with creative design duo Dee & Ricky Jackson
Specifics: The extremely limited collection is made up of 25 frames, each 1 of 1. The collection combines Dee & Ricky Jackson’s signature use of Lego-inspired bricks with Morgenthal Frederics’ craftsmanship, resulting in frame design with individual bricks of natural buffalo horn in fun colors like Hot Caramel Night, Royal Blue Vanilla, Albino Royal Brick, and Cerulean Brick Pear. As with all Morgenthal Frederics products, each frame is individually handcrafted by artisans in Germany, using 12-18 layers Indian water buffalo horn that are pressed and polished to showcase the natural beauty of the material.
Selling Point: Ricky Jackson said, “Initially, we were inspired by interesting shapes and the infusion of color. “We thought, ‘How cool would it be to bring our flavor and aesthetic to the Morgenthal Frederics brand?’”
Dee Jackson said, “We are known for our use of Lego-inspired bricks, and to be able to translate this into buffalo horn was insane. I don’t think it’s ever been done before.”
The accompanying campaign features Dee & Ricky alongside Morgenthal Frederics’ chief creative officer, Jeff Press, and designer, Riya Mehta. It was inspired by the iconic 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
