RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Ventures announced the acquisition of two Irvine, Calif.-based optometry practices: Golden Vision Optometry and Irvine Optometry. Led by Drs. Lena Chang and Ruth Tang, respectively, the practices have deep roots in Irvine and have become trusted eyecare providers in the diverse community they serve, VSP noted. Both businesses will continue under their existing names, and all doctors and staff will remain in their roles, continuing VSP Ventures’ commitment to preserve and enhance the legacy of doctors looking to transition their practices, VSP's announcement said.

Dr. Chang, the founder of Golden Vision Optometry, opened her practice in 1994 and takes pride in being the first Mandarin-speaking optometrist in Irvine. Since opening, the practice has expanded to include Dr. Jennie J. Fan and Dr. Diana Lou and specializes in dry eye management, orthokeratology, fitting specialty contact lenses and treating glaucoma.

The founder of Irvine Optometry, Dr. Tang, started her practice in 1998 and works alongside Dr. Kimberly Pham. Irvine Optometry offers comprehensive vision care, including retinal imaging, cataract and LASIK co-management, dry eye management, specialty contact lenses, and the treatment and management of ocular diseases.

VSP noted that patients look to both Golden Vision Optometry and Irvine Optometry for a wide selection of high-end frames.

“We’re thrilled to help nurture the incredibly successful businesses that Dr. Chang and Dr. Tang have built from the ground up,” said president of VSP Ventures Tiffanie Burkhalter. “They each expressed a desire for a partnership with a supportive network that prioritizes choice in product offerings and brings resources that will help them differentiate and grow, and we’re honored they chose VSP Ventures.”
