RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Global has announced the promotion of Wendy Hauteman to chief marketing officer (CMO). In the role, Hauteman will lead the organization’s global marketing strategy to deliver its products and services to a diverse set of stakeholders, including nearly 90 million VSP members, the company said.  She will report to Michael Guyette, president and CEO of VSP Global. Hauteman succeeds Mark Ginsberg, who served as CMO since 2016, and moves into a new role as VSP Global’s chief giving officer.

“As a passionate marketer with 25 years of diverse experience, Wendy is the right leader to transform VSP Global’s marketing and continue to strengthen the connection with our customers,” said Guyette. “We’re excited to see Wendy take on this role and further advance our mission of helping people see.”

Hauteman most recently served as senior vice president of marketing for VSP Vision Care (since 2015). In that role she led marketing and branding strategy for the business-to-business (broker and client), business-to-consumer (VSP members) and direct-to-consumer business units.  She joined VSP Global in 2013 as senior vice president of global strategic marketing. She has over 20 years of experience in the optical industry. Prior to joining VSP Global, Hauteman served in a variety of senior marketing leadership roles at Pearle Vision, ILORI, and EyeMed.

Hauteman and her husband have two daughters and reside in El Dorado Hills, Calif. She loves fitness and has run multiple marathons. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and an MBA in marketing from Xavier University.
