NASHVILLE, Tenn.—BrightBenefits, a new employee benefits company formed last year, announced several new additions to its executive leadership team. Under the leadership of president Danny Bentley, and along with Tim Carney, executive vice president and chief sales officer, these additions will help further establish the company in the dental and vision insurance industries and strategically position it in the marketplace, the company said. Jennifer Hill, Brynn Ray and Jena Wendel are the new executives who will bring a range of experience to their new roles. VMail reported about the establishment of BrightBenefits late last year. BrightBenefits, a national dental and vision insurance business, is a strategic partnership between National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) and Insurance Capital Group (ICG). NGL and ICG, through its Federal Life Group, Inc. affiliate, have jointly developed and launched BrightBenefits. Policies will be issued by NGL and by Commercial Travelers Insurance Company.

Hill comes to BrightBenefits from Davis Vision by Versant Health, where she served as director of client management for national accounts. As vice president relationship management, Hill will help design programs and develop partnerships that establish the company and meet clients’ unique and dynamic needs. During her time at Davis, Hill provided strategic leadership and a consultative approach to comprehensive vision benefits management for some of the country’s largest employers.

Joining BrightBenefits as vice president marketing, Brynn Ray will oversee the introduction of the brand to the marketplace and position it as a trusted partner and provider of benefits employees need and want to protect their families. Ray most recently served as marketing and communications director for The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to that, she served as marketing director for Versant Health, where her broad background and creative approach to messaging contributed to record sales for Davis Vision and created the new brand as it transitioned to Versant Health in 2018.

As vice president underwriting, Jena Wendel analyzes and designs pricing models for profitability and stability for all BrightBenefits product offerings, namely dental and vision insurance. Most recently, she served as director of underwriting for Davis Vision by Versant Health, where she ensured the integrity of underwriting activities, processes and filings and led the strategic development and implementation of innovative products for the business.

“We sought out some of the brightest talent in the industry to round out the BrightBenefits leadership team,” Bentley said. “I am excited with the additions as we continue to advance the company. This is the right team to build and deliver benefits that employees need and want for their families."
