TOKYO—Shamir Optical Industry has entered into an exclusive agreement with Paris Miki, one of the biggest optical retail chains in Japan, that will enable the company to provide customers with high quality, customized optical lenses within 24 hours. The service will be provided by InoTime, a full prescription, fast lab developed by Shamir. Shamir operates InoTime laboratories in New Zealand, Singapore, Italy, France, Portugal and Canada. Its partnership with Paris Miki marks its entry into the Japanese market.

"This is a historic moment for Shamir, and a very exciting moment for me personally,” said Yagen Moshe, CEO Shamir Optical Industry. “We have officially inaugurated Shamir Japan and were chosen by Paris Miki—Japan's leading optics company—as their preferred business partner. We intend to continue being a leader in the field with Israeli technology throughout the world."


Shamir and Paris Miki will begin rolling out InoTime in Tokyo on Feb. 10 before expanding it nationwide on April 1.

Paris Miki operates 719 stores across Japan. Its annual sales turnover was about $500 million in 2019, according to the company’s year-end results
