Latest News Now Optics Names Team to Lead My Eyelab Franchise Development By Staff Tuesday, August 20, 2019 12:21 AM PALM SPRINGS, Fla.—Now Optics, a leading eye health provider under the retail brands Stanton Optical and My Eyelab, has announced a new business team of experienced executives to lead its franchise development. Since launching the franchise business in 2016 under the My Eyelab brand, the company has opened nearly 30 stores and has an additional 65 locations in various stages of operations and development, according to an announcement on Monday. Now Optics said franchise locations are available in cities such as Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix and Denver, either in single-unit or multi-unit franchise arrangements.The executives leading this new franchise team are: Mike Wootton, Joe Malmuth and William Reno (a one-time executive with For Eyes, a unit of GrandVision). This franchise opportunity “offers streamlined startup and operating costs while utilizing ocular telehealth technology for efficiencies,” the announcement noted. The franchise model with Now Optics is a "turnkey" opportunity, the announcement added.Wootton, who will take on the role of vice president of franchise development, oversees the team and is responsible for developing a strategic growth plan and identifying key franchisee operators for My Eyelab branded stores. He brings experience as franchise developer for nearly seven years at Dairy Queen, where he managed franchise sales and site selection for Dairy Queen Grill and Chill and Dairy Queen/Orange Julius in the Southeast. Additionally, Wootton served as southeast U.S. franchise developer for five years at Domino’s Pizza, where he oversaw franchise operation growth and created the non-traditional convenience and resort store concepts.Malmuth, was named vice president of franchise sales, manages growth and development. He previously was a regional vice president of the Carolinas for United Franchise Group, a global brand that supports a successful group of business-to-business franchise systems. He led and directed franchise licenses and franchise support staff for Signarama, Fully Promoted (formerly EmbroidMe), SuperGreen Solutions, Experimax, John Smith Subs, The Great Greek, Venture X and Transworld Business Advisors franchise brands in North and South Carolina. Malmuth also was a vice president of sales for Accurate Franchising—the only franchise development consulting firm that owns and operates its own franchise brands—where he assisted in the launch of 35 franchise businesses, according to the announcement.Reno has been named vice president of franchise operations and experience. He will lead the daily operations customer experience and training. Previously, he was vice president of operations/development at For Eyes by GrandVision, with oversight of 129 optical retail locations in North America and Puerto Rico. He spearheaded acquisitions and franchise initiatives, including the development of new concepts while launching 22 new locations.
