NEW YORK—Jobson Research’s 2020 Eye Care Professional Income study is now available. The annual study provides the average income for optometrists, opticians/dispensers and optical office managers in the U.S. based on their 2019 earnings. It also looks at the differences in earnings between men and women across all demographics. The study, conducted in April 2020, breaks down average income by location type, years of experiences, region, and practice revenue size. It also includes additional gender profiles for key factors in job switching, number of businesses worked in, and negotiation of salary and benefits.

ECPs can use the data, which is presented in charts and tables, to benchmark their compensation policies against the national and regional variances.
